Yeah, this is the tricky part of background removal - fine details like loose hairs are genuinely difficult. The system does its best, but wispy bits, flyaway hairs, and fuzzy edges can sometimes get clipped. This is a fundamental limitation of the technology, not just our tool. For the cleanest results, try using photos where the subject is well-separated from the background, with good lighting. Solid colored backgrounds are easier than busy ones.
A few things to check: First, make sure you download as PNG - JPG does not support transparency. Second, when you place the PNG in your design software, check that the software is actually showing transparent areas as a checkerboard pattern rather than white. Some apps default to showing a white background behind transparent images. If you are uploading to a website and it still shows white, the website might be automatically adding a background - that is on the upload side, not our tool.
Our background remover isolates subjects from backgrounds, so it will remove the background - not the person. Background remover treats the entire background as one thing to remove, not individual elements within the scene.
The system was trained on millions of images covering a huge range of scenarios. It handles solid colors and simple gradients easily. Busy scenes, foliage, architectural details, and complex textures are all in the training data. That said, particularly challenging cases - like a subject with the same color as the background, or extremely fine details like fur against similar-colored fur - will always be difficult for any background removal tool.
